Specific task types provided by ITG include: distribution system analysis, development and management, location modeling and distribution network analysis, fleet planning, operation and maintenance, carrier management and routing, freight forwarding, consolidation and management, and tracking system analysis, design, operations and management.

In its basic form information technology is a tool that facilitates government or business work process providing structure, transparency, records and knowledge management. Automation of selected institutional work processes can support the implementation of new practices, provide for enhanced analysis, facilitate information dissemination and minimize potential pathways of corruption. The use of data/record management systems can also greatly improve a government institution’s decision-making and policy development capabilities by providing a larger amount of structured, quantifiable, and easily retrievable strategic information to support the implementation of fiscal, cultural, and social policy reforms.

Trade and Investment – by enhancing competitiveness through business process automation/streamlining and replication, minimization of cost of doing business, greater market exposure through the use of e-commerce initiatives;
Finance - by implementing financial management systems that improve the timeliness of statistical information, provide linkages between budget forecasts, expenditures, and revenues, allow for enhanced tracking of fiscal performance, minimize opportunities for corruption;
Analytical services – by enhancing performance monitoring and measurement, facilitating institutional analysis and design, providing web site development and maintenance for public dissemination of data, and database development to enhance quantitative measurement evaluation.
